BRONCOS

WEEK 1 -- RISE OF THE HOPEFUL
(by Wimmer)

It saddens me that this has to be so short and arrive so late, like a midget at a big-and-tall store, but the points are these:

1.  Wow, Peyton Manning looked better than I hoped.  But he looked just as good in a Broncos uniform as I had hoped.  Mission accomplished on both accounts.

2.  Wow, it was good to see a real offense run in Denver for the first time in years.  I'm an absolute Tebow hater (professionally speaking...I have no problem with him personally, he's just a terrible quarterback) and it made me insane last year when so many idiot Broncos fans jumped on his bandwagon.  Like the Jews dancing around the golden calf, you were blinded by shiny false idols.

3.  Wow, our secondary is old.  They're still good, mind you, but I really hope they can hold up this year.  We're playing some pass-heavy offenses that have some great wide receivers.  Hopefully our front seven continues to play well so that All Pro quarterbacks like Drew Brees and Matt Ryan simply don't have time to find their great receivers.
